Blog 10: Lyrical Lines

Lyrical Lines

I like tons of songs. There is no way I can choose just one song that is my favorite but the song that I chose to do for this blog entry is Tribute by the band Tenacious D. I like that band because they are funny and awesome at the same time. This song makes me laugh and at the same time it is amazing. One of the reasons it is so cool is because Tenacious D mostly uses acoustic guitar which is really cool because not many rock bands do that now. Also their lyrics are totally random and funny. I like at the beginning where the first words they say are “This is the greatest and best song in the world. Tribute.” I also like the part that goes like “So we played the first thing that came to are heads. It just so happened to be, the best song in the world. It was the best song in the world. Look into my eyes and it’s easy to see one and one make two, two and one make three, it was destiny. Once every hundred thousand years or so when the sun doth shine and the moon doth glow and the grass doth grow.” It’s totally random but they sound so serious when they sing it. Another part of the song that I like is when they sing “He asked us, be you angels? And we said nay we are but men. Rock. Ah, ah oh, oh no! This is not the greatest song in the world, this is just a tribute.” That makes absolutely no since because at the beginning of the song they said this is the greatest and best song in the world. I also like how they occasionally put old English in their lyrics. That sounds cool.
